The 2009 FIBA Africa Championship for Women is the 21st continental championships held by FIBA Africa. The championship will serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic. The tournament was held in Antananarivo, Madagascar from October 9 to October 18. Senegal defeated Mali in the final to capture its tenth FIBA Africa Championship for Women. Both teams qualified for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women.
